A warm Wicklow welcome for the new undisputed boxing lightweight champion of the world Katie Taylor.
People came out in Bray, County Wicklow to welcome home one of their own and the world champion Katie Taylor. Thanking fans for their support throughout her career Katie Taylor is happy to share her success.
Fans young and older had nothing but praise and kind words for their local hero.
She's an absolute legend and she's from our own hometown Bray as well.
One aspiring young boxer paid tribute to Katie Taylor and the inspiration she provided. She even managed to get her new boxing gloves signed by the World Champion.
This is not the first time Wicklow County Council has had to organise a homecoming event for Katie Taylor. In 2012, another event celebrated victory at the London Olympics. Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, described Katie Taylor as,
