A new orcehstra prepare for their debut concert at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
The 55 young musicians who make up the Dublin City Chamber Orchestra rehearse at Trinity College Dublin ahead of their inaugural performance, The Magic of the Movies, at the National Concert Hall.
Founded by conductor Eimear Noone and cellist Gillian Saunders, the ensemble has already begun to make its mark. Recently, the orchestra recorded the musical score for 'Hold The Passion', a feature‑length documentary on the history of the Focus Theatre, written and directed by Ronan O'Leary and featuring actor Gabriel Byrne.
Eimear Noone acknowledges the many supporters within the musical community who have championed the orchestra, including patrons John Boorman, Elmer Bernstein, and Noel Pearson. With an innovative and forward thinking approach to concert programming, the orchestra aims to remove traditional barriers between performers and audiences. Eimear Noone describes the musicians as young professionals at the beginning of their careers.
Their debut performance at the National Concert Hall will showcase some of Ireland finest young classical musicians and will incorporate a 40 piece choir.
