The pandemic prevents the Eurovision Song Contest taking place but a special show will go on.
The Eurovision Song Contest grand final was due to take place in Rotterdam this year but was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A special 'Europe Shine A Light' show will feature some classic songs and performances from past Eurovision Song Contests. Among them 'What's Another Year', the winning song from Ireland and Johnny Logan in 1980.
Broadcaster and Eurovision commentator Marty Whelans says Europe Shine A Light will be an escape from the reality of the pandemic.
Lesley Roy, who was due to represent Ireland at Eurovision this year, is just one of the many disappointed contestants. She will be tuning in to 'Europe Shine A Light' from lockdown in New York.
