Life has become very different for the five members of the boy band Boyzone in a short time.
Having just performed their new single 'You're The Key To My Life’, Boyzone join host Pat Kenny to talk about their meteoric rise to fame.
According to Stephen Gately the lads no longer have a private life. They do not get home to Dublin as much now but even today they were mobbed by hordes of fans in the city centre.
All five members say their lives would all have been very different if had they not met Boyzone manager Louis Walsh. Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch were mechanics, Ronan Keating would have been in the US, Keith Duffy was working in Frawley’s department store and Stephen Gately’s ambition was to become an actor.
The new Boyzone song has been written by the band themselves. They are hopeful that critics will take them more seriously. Up to now their singles have all been cover versions. They are very appreciative of the level of support from Ireland,
We know our Irish fans will look after us.
