An exhibition at TCD celebrates the detective novel and tales of murder and mystery.

An exhibition at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) is a celebration of 100 years of crime fiction

Curated by Dr Charles Benson covering the period 1841 to 1941 the exhibition at the Long Room in TCD highlights the popularity of fictional heroes such as Sherlock Holmes, Father Brown and Hercule Poirot.

All of the usual suspects are here and all have murder in mind.

Detective fiction author John Connolly picks his two favourite novels from the exhibition 'Farewell My Lovely' by Raymond Chandler and 'Red Harvest' by Dashiell Hammett.

The exhibition runs until June and organisers say,

It would be a crime to miss it.
