A new bus service at Dublin Airport will bring passengers from the terminal building to their plane.
Two former Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) single-deck buses get a new lease of life at Dublin Airport ferrying passengers between the terminal building and their plane. The service introduced by Aer Lingus begins with one bus operating a 24-hour shuttle service.
The buses have been modernised and refurnished for their new role and are painted in Aer Lingus green and white. The buses can seat 28 passengers and there is standing room for another 30.
The purpose of the new bus service is to speed up passenger movement and to keep passengers dry in wet weather. Passengers are ferried from the farthest aircraft parking site to the arrivals terminal in approximately two minutes.
During the summer peak period it is estimated that over 2,000 passengers per day will use the buses.
