Leinster open their provincial campaign with a win against Connacht at Lansdowne Road.

Leinster and Connacht meet at Lansdowne Road in Dublin for the opening encounter of the Irish Rugby Football Union Interprovincial Championship. This competition is held between the four provinces of Ireland, Ulster, Leinster, Munster and Connacht.

With three minutes to half time Connacht are trailing Leinster by three points. Wanderers Rugby Football Club out-half Kevin McGowan makes a break,

This try gives Leinster a 14 to 8 point lead. The half time score is Leinster 16 points Connacht 11 points.

The final score was Leinster 24 Connacht 11.
