The Cassidy quintuplets from Wexford celebrate their first birthday.

On 16 August 2001, Veronica and Kevin Cassidy from Bridgetown, in County Wexford, became the proud parents of five tiny babies, born prematurely at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin. The Cassidy quintuplets are Ireland's only surviving quintuplets.

Today Conor, Cian, Amy, Derbhail and Rory Cassidy are celebrating their first birthday. Veronica Cassidy is emotional about the past year. The quintuplets spent most of the year in hospital and all five were only home together for Christmas.

Kevin Cassidy is impressed by how well the quintuplets are sleeping,

They're doing tremendously.

The Cassidy’s have a great support network of family, friends and neighbours. Veronica and Kevin Cassidy even manage to have a social life,

We get out every fortnight really, together, we’re doing alright.
