Lisa and Leona Maguire return home after success at the under 12 World Golf Championships.

Eleven year-old twin sisters, Lisa and Leona Maguire, from Cavan take first and third prizes respectively at the World Junior Golf Championships.

The identical twins took up golf just two years ago playing at the Castle Hume Club in Enniskillen and since then went on to win at the European Championships which gained them entry to the Junior World Championships.

They have made remarkable progress in a very short time.

Speaking at a press conference following their win, Lisa Maguire said of their success.

It hasn't really sunk in yet.

The sisters are very competitive and Leona is determined to get revenge on her sister for taking the top prize. Having beaten Lisa before, she is determined to do it again.

Their parents, Breda and Declan Maguire caddied for the twins at the Pinehurst Club in North Carolina, and are delighted with their success.

Lisa and Leona Maguire now plan to relax and watch the British Women’s Golf Open on television.
