An initiative to develop life skills through the game of golf has been launched in north Dublin.

'The First Tee' programme aims to teach children the importance of honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. Ireland is the first country in Europe to embrace the idea, which has attracted 675 thousand youngsters worldwide.

Some new young golfers from Coolock in north Dublin have had their perceptions of the game of golf changed as a result of the programme.

This initiative targets youngsters from all backgrounds. They're introduced to the game of golf and the life lessons it teaches.

John Warren, Executive Director of The First Tee of Ireland, outlines some of the values associated with the game.

Golfer Patrick Geraghty also talks about the exclusivity that is associated with golf and how this programme hopes to break this down.
