Twenty four year old Rathfarnham native Pádraig Harrington returns home to Dublin after winning the 1996 Peugeot Spanish Open in Madrid.

Pádraig Harrington returned home after securing a maiden victory on the European Tour. Accompanied by his girlfriend Caroline, the couple pose for photographers with the Spanish Open Trophy at Dublin Airport.

Members at Harrington's home club, Stackstown in Rathfarnham celebrated following the win.  Noel Burke, Eleanor McMahon, John McLoughlin, Noel McDermott, give their memories and impression of Harrington whose father helped found the club. 

Fellow Irish golf professional Eamonn Darcy is confident about Harrington's ability and his future,

He'll go all the way this guy...It is great to see it one of our own.
