Payne Stewart spoke to RTÉ News about his recent victory at the US Open and his hopes for the Irish Open.

The newly crowned US Open Champion Payne Stewart hopes to continue his winning run with a victory at the Carrolls Irish Open Championship in Killarney. Following his US win after a play off against Scott Simpson, Payne Stewart was feeling confident and excited about being in Ireland.

Colm Murray reports from the 18th hole on the Killeen Course in Killarney, the venue for the 1991 Carrolls Irish Open. It is expected that crowds of up to 20,000 will attend to follow the top names in European and world golf.
