Following a lengthy campaign, the people of Glenmaquin in Donegal celebrate the arrival of a water supply to the area.
A small community in County Donegal celebrates the arrival of water after a long campaign. The symbolic turning on of the tap was held in Glenmaquin National School (NS) which had been dependant on a well that regularly ran dry.

Under the gaze of teachers, pupils, parents and politicians, the first official sample of drinking water to Glenmaquin NS is taken by a chairman of the school board Willie Lindsay,

Samuel James Eaton of the Glenmaquin Group Water Scheme is confident the water supply is just the beginning for the development of the area. Councillor Dessie Larkin of Donegal County Council pays tribute to the main players in the campaign’s success; the media, officials, councillors and especially the community.
