Cattle cleaned and groomed for the Virginia Agricultural Show in County Cavan.

The 46th annual Virginia Agricultural Show included Shire horses, show jumping horses and of cattle competing for the title of Champion Dairy Cow.

There was good weather, good eating and good fun at the Virginia Show.

The all Ireland final of the Irish Champion Dairy Cow Competition was one of the major events of the day with a prize of £1,000 and the Virginia Milk Products Trophy. The prize money and the trophy went to owner Martin Cahill. The prize was presented by the Minister of State for the Department of Agriculture.

A cow capable of producing 2,300 gallons of milk a year.
