Preparations are underway in Stradbally County Laois for Electric Picnic, the last music festival of the summer.

Electric Picnic is back for a third year with over 200 performers taking to the stage, including headline acts Pet Shop Boys and Massive Attack.

Bigger and better is the mantra of this boutique festival.

One Dublin band making their festival debut is Boss Volenti.

It is not just about the music. A Chapel of Love will be available on site for any couples who want a test run of a trip down the aisle. You can also get a birds eye view of the festival in a hot air balloon ride.

Security is also a concern. Oxegen was the biggest festival of the summer with many reports of public order offences. Promoter John Reynolds is optimistic that there will be no such problems at Electric Picnic.

Festival goers have a wide range of sleeping options from teepees, beach huts, buses and pod pads.

Tickets are sold out and those who did not get one can listen on 2FM.
