A cast of writer John B Keane's hands is taken to create a bronze plaque to be placed outside the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin in recognition of his contribution to the arts.

People gather outside John B Keane's pub in Listowel County Kerry to watch the writer place his hands in clay to be subsequently cast in bronze and placed in the plaza outside Dublin's Gaiety Theatre.

Today cemented his relationship with the Gaiety.

The cast will be placed alongside the handprints of Maureen Potter. John B. Keane who turns seventy three next week, says he is delighted that he will be holding hands with Maureen Potter forever.
