Music manager Louis Walsh is talent spotting again and this time he wants to put together a stadium rock band.

Famous as the man behind successful boy bands Boyzone and Westlife. He also played a part in catapulting Samantha Mumba into the big time. But now he has his eye on hard rock.

Auditions for the band are taking place at The Pod on Harcourt Street in Dublin on Saturday 24 February.

We just need the five right guys with attitude. Attitude is as important to me as talent.

Louis Walsh defends the idea of manufactured bands saying that there is a lot of musical snobbery in the industry and his bands sell millions of records worldwide.

For Dermot Doran of live music venue Eamon Doran's in Dublin’s Temple Bar, rock and roll is about soul and passion. He says while manufactured bands may be commercially successful, there is no heart in what he sees as another fickle product of pop.

We’re going to get another Monkees when there’s probably another Beatles out there somewhere.

Even though Louis Walsh's new band does not exist yet, a record deal is already in place.
