Croke Park streaker Brian Togher on braving the elements and the Gardaí to raise funds for a good cause.

Making a fully clothed appearance on 'The Late Late Show' Brian Togher explains why he decided to streak at the Leinster Senior Football Championship final between Dublin and Kildare held in Croke Park on 30 July 2000.

Eight minutes from the end of the Leinster final, Brian Togher wearing only a thong dashed onto the pitch from the Canal end of Croke Park before a Guard moved him onto the sideline on the Hoqan side.

The streak came about as a means to raise funds for his cousin Emma Connolly, a wheelchair user who is intellectually disabled. To date, Brian Togher has raised £1,700 for a new wheelchair and a trip to Lourdes for Emma. He expects this total to increase when he collects outstanding pledges of money.

Brian Togher has been told he is the first streaker at Croke Park. He is still waiting for An Garda Síochána to charge him for pitch invasion as they

Couldn’t do me for indecent exposure right, because I was covered, you know.

He takes the opportunity to thank his supporters and the many people who have donated to Emma’s fund.

This episode of ‘The Late Late Show’ was broadcast on 8 September 2000. The presenter is Pat Kenny.
