James Bond star and proud Navan man Pierce Brosnan is awarded the freedom of the town.
Pierce Brosnan and his mother May returned to the County Meath town of Navan for the first time since 1965. The Urban District Council bestowed the freedom of Navan upon the actor who spent the first twelve years of his life in the town.
A tongue tied and overwhelmed Pierce Brosnan graciously accepted the honour at a ceremony.
I know I come from Navan. I'm a Navan man.
Pierce Brosnan also paid a visit to number 2 Saint Finian's Terrace in Navan where he and his family had lived.
