Sligo marks the 124th birthday of the poet William Butler Yeats .
A series of events is taking place in Sligo to celebrate the birthday of William Butler Yeats 124 years ago. Members of the Everyman Theatre Company are reading the works of Yeats in Drumcliff churchyard where the poet is buried and at Hazlewood mentioned in the poem 'The Song of the Wandering Aengus'.
Sligo hopes that these events can be built on to promote the area's links with the poet.
