Roscommon's Tony McManus scores a point to level the sides at 10 points each. Two Gay McManus frees put Galway back ahead 2-07 to 1-08. After a bit of a scramble, Micky Freyne punches a point to reduce the deficit to a single point again. A Dermot Earley free ties the game up again.
Roscommon became champions with a final score line of Roscommon 1-12 Galway 2-08.
