With Gay Pride festivals taking place across Europe and in North America there was a large turnout for the parade in Dublin.
The festivities in Dublin began in Capel Street with a champagne breakfast. The annual parade left from the Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square and passed through O'Connell Street.
While the emphasis was on having a good time, issues including anti-gay crimes and civil partnership rights were also highlighted.
The parade passes down O'Connell Street in Dublin's city centre.
