'Exhibit A' looks at the work of youth theatres across Dublin and speaks to some of those young people involved in the Dublin Youth Theatre (DYT).

On a day out at Dublin Zoo members of the Dublin Youth Theatre chat about being part of the acting troupe and perform excerpts from Willy Russell's musical 'Our Day Out'.

The DYT comprises of people from all over Dublin between the ages of 16 and 22, some of whom
hope to make a career in acting.

The social life is great, you know. You get to meet people your own age and there's so many people there.... For me, I've got a lot out of it.

The DYT was founded in 1977 and continues to stage productions regularly.

The report includes an interview with Irish writer, director and actor Gerry Stembridge who comments on the benefits and challenges of theatre for young people.

This edition of 'Exhibit A' was broadcast on 4 November 1985.
