Dublin beat Cork to reach their third All Ireland Football Final in four years.

Dublin won a scrappy game at Croke Park and continued in the pursuit of a first All Ireland Football title since 1983.The only goal of the game came when Jason Sherlock got on to a quickly taken Keith Barr free, the Dublin forward turned sharply and the Cork defender Mark O'Connor slipped. Sherlock took full advantage and scored from a narrow angle to leave the sides level 1-02 to 0-05.

The goal would prove to be the turning point of the match. Cork had started the better team with Mark O'Sullivan taking a couple of good points. Dublin were reliant on Charlie Redmond from placed balls and all of their points in the first half came from his boot. At half time Dublin led by 1-05 to 0-06.

Straight after the break Dublin scored three unanswered points from Mick Galvin, Paul Clarke and Charlie Redmond. Cork were unable to get back to their opponents for the remainder of the game. The final score was Dublin 1-12 Cork 0-12
