'Cúrsaí Ealaíne' looks at travel writing as a literary genre in this studio discussion. Presenter Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin asks writers Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill and Gearailt Mac Eoin to review three travel books and talk about travel writing in general.
The selected books are two recent publications, 'The Sign of the Cross: Travels in Catholic Europe' by Colm Tóibín (1994) and 'Istanbul Diary' by Adrian Kenny (1994), to be discussed alongside 'Fánaíocht i gContae Mhaigh Eo' by Séamus Mag Uidhir, which was originally published in 1944 but had been re-issued by An Gúm on its 50th anniversary.
An oibríonn na leabhair seo mar leabhair taistil? Nó an bhfuil siad cosúil le úrscéalta nó iriseoireacht nó seanchas fiú amháin? Sin iad na ceisteanna á phlé sa phíosa seo.
A 'Cúrsaí Ealaíne' feature from 20 November 1994.
