The Irish soccer team lose 2-0 to Holland in the second round of the World Cup 1994.

RTÉ News reports on the reaction from the fans around Ireland.

The report also pays a visit to Ryan's pub on Parkgate Street in Dublin which is empty.

Not a TV set or a radio in the house. And not a customer either.

The barman describes the bar as an old traditional bar and the owners decided to keep it that way.

The report also shows both Holland and Ireland supporters watching the match at the Dutch company Phillips in Clonskeagh, Dublin.

Fans in Galway and Waterford are equally delighted for the team despite their loss.

An RTÉ News report broadcast on 4 July 1994. The reporter is Carole Coleman.
