Dutch industrialist Tiede Herrema kidnapped in Limerick by the IRA.

The IRA demanded the release of three republican prisoners, Kevin Mallon, Jim Hyland and Rose Dugdale in return for Herrema.

Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill reports for RTÉ News from outside the Ferenka Factory managed by Herrema, where she talks to his deputy Dr Fritz Lambert. He had been wondering all morning where his colleague was, only to be told what had happened by the Dutch Embassy, who have asked him to close the factory.

Dr Fritz Lambert says the Ferenka company's priority is to get Dr Herrema back.
