The story of the Menai Suspension Bridge in Anglesey in Wales and its Irish connections.
Proinsias Ó Conluain tells the story of the construction of the Menai Suspension Bridge which was partly at the instigation of Irish MPs in Westminster.
In what seems an unusual subject matter but demonstrates O'Conluain's diversity as a programme maker, the recording marked 150 years since the construction of the Menai Suspension Bridge.

Another example of Proinsias Ó Conluain's versatility as a presenter and producer is that he had the foresight to record the local drama company's dramatisation of how the building of the bridge came about. In this extract from the documentary, the Irish Ambassador is mentioned as being part of the commemoration, because of the obvious Irish links, but Proinsias went on to say in the programme that they were refused permission to record at the commemoration celebration and therefore we don't have audio of the ambassador's words! The accompanying photograph shows the Menai Suspension Bridge, designed by Thomas Telford, and the Britannia Tubular Bridge, designed by Robert Stephenson, between mainland Wales and Anglesey.
