Major General Piaras Béaslaí is buried at the Republican Plot in Glasnevin Cemetery with full military honours.

The patriot, dramatist and Irish scholar Major General Piaras Béaslaí died in the Mater Private nursing home in Dublin on 22 June 1965. His remains were removed to Saint Columba's Church, Iona Road in Glasnevin.

Following a Requiem Mass, Piaras Béaslaí's coffin, draped in a Tricolour, is carried on a gun carriage from St Columba's to Glasnevin Cemetery, where he is buried in the Republican plot with full military honours.

In the cemetery, the funeral cortège moves through a Guard of Honour drawn from units of Old Irish Republican Army (IRA) under Commandant Vincent Byrne. Prayers are recited at the graveside. A firing party from the 2nd Motor Squadron, Cathal Brugah Barracks, fires three volleys over the grave.
