Viewers offered the opportunity to give their comments and opinions on RTÉ television programmes.

Television viewers are invited to share their opinions on specific RTÉ television programme genres such as light entertainment, current affairs and drama.

Those making interesting points might be invited to come on air to present their case, so the person responsible for that area in RTÉ can reply. Given the three to four minute time slot allotted to this item, those sharing their opinions are asked to be concise.

Cathal O'Shannon explains in greater detail what is expected of audience members writing in with their views. RTÉ is looking for,

Sensible arguments and not generalities.

Some of the letters already received raise topics such as the effects of television violence on children, the lack of educational programmes for adults and the dearth of programmes for teenagers.
