'September' a mini-series with a large cast that includes Jenny Agutter is being filmed in Dublin.
As with the Mel Gibson film ‘Braveheart’, Ireland is the location for another production set in Scotland. The £5.5m mini-series ‘September’ is being produced by British company Portman Hannibal and Wolfhound Films from Ireland.
Directed by Colin Bucksey, ‘September’ is based on the Rosamunde Pilcher novel of the same title. The cast includes Jacqueline Bisset, Jenny Agutter, Mariel Hemingway, Virginia McKenna, Edward Fox and Michael York.
Jenny Agutter who plays the role of Isobel Balmerino gives a brief synopsis of the story set in the fictional Scottish community of Strathcroy.
It’s a large cast, lots of different people and all their lives are interwoven together.
While filming on Dawson Street in Dublin, Lord Mayor of Dublin John Gormely visits the set to welcome the cast and crew.
‘September’ will be broadcast in two parts and is expected to be shown on RTÉ in late 1995.
