Dustin, Jack Charlton and members of the Republic of Ireland soccer squad encourage young people to use the Irish language.

The way the Irish language is taught is often criticised for being dated and boring. The video 'An Ghaeilge — Just Use It' is anything but. This is a joint venture by the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Bord na Gaeilge and the Irish National Teachers' Organisation (INTO).

Using an entertaining and fresh approach to teaching the Irish language the video features appearances by Dustin the Turkey, Republic of Ireland manager Jack Charlton and players Niall Quinn, Andy Townsend and Packie Bonner.

They encourage young people to use whatever Irish they know outside the classroom by trying out some simple phrases. Republic of Ireland captain Andy Townsend does his best to pronounce,

Déan do dhícheall.

Jack Charlton, a keen angler in his spare time delivers words of wisdom,

Tá mé ag dul ag iascaireacht.

The video is for distribution to schools and youth groups around the country or can be bought from Clear Cut Communications.
