The Seandún is the name given to the train providing the new express service from Cork to Dublin
Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) launches the Seandún express from Cork to Dublin. This train service augments the morning schedule from Cork to Dublin at 9:15 am and 11:30 am.
Passenger surveys taken by CIÉ highlighted the need for an earlier service for those wishing to do business in Dublin in the morning and afternoon, returning to Cork on the evening service.
The Seandún departs from Cork at 8:10 am. Breakfast is served to first-class passengers at their seats, and they receive free daily newspapers, free coffee, and free seat reservations.
Over the two-hour and 50-minute journey, commuters on this train can prepare for the day's work while travelling in comfort, safety, and speed.
Passengers from Mallow, Buttevant, Ráth Luirc (Charleville), Kilmallock, and Knocklong can join this train at Limerick Junction through a connecting rail service from Mallow.
