Photographers more used to displaying their work online show images of Dublin in a gallery setting.

Thirteen Dublin based photographers, who met through posting images on the photo-sharing website Flickr, are moving from a virtual space to a gallery with a real world exhibition. Titled 'Dublinr' the exhibition showcases photographs of Dublin at The Joinery gallery in Arbour Hill.

Photos brought them together. For some, it's their first face to face introduction. Before this, they were just friends on Flickr.

As the photographers meet in person for the first time, Paul O'Connell describes the encounter as being similar to a big blind date.

Dublin captured through the lens of its Flickr community.

Andy Sheridan says that the photographers want their images to be seen by as many people as possible but do not want to get stuck in a virtual world. Putting images on show in a gallery will bring a whole new audience who may never have found their work online. It also made sense to have the exhibition in the centre of Dublin given that the photographs are about the city.

Dave G Kelly says that while many of the photographers started out as amateurs, some are now going professional.

All the works can be viewed at The Joinery or online at DubLens.ie.
