Grief, shock and condemnation follow the gun attack at the Rising Sun pub in Greysteel, County Derry
The Ulster Freedom Fighters (UFF) claimed responsibility for the attack on the pub in Greysteel where seven people were killed. (An eighth victim died some months later). The UFF say the attack was carried out for revenge for the Shankill Road bombing by the Provisional IRA a week earlier on 23 October 1993.
Since the Shankill Road bomb, 23 people have died including the latest 7 killed at Greysteel.
A week in which some church leaders warned the men of violence are no longer listening.
Outside the put where the attack took place, Chief Constable Sir Hugh Annesley said that Northern Ireland is at a crossroads describing the perpetrators of the attacks as psychotic killers.
Ulster Unionist Party for East Derry MP William Ross has called for the introduction of internment.
