The medical solutions company Boston Scientific is to create 2,000 jobs in Ireland.

College graduates are set to reap the benefits of the Boston Scientific jobs announcement.

Twenty-one year old Graham Barriscale a final year student of physics and instrumentation at Cork Regional Technical College says that the Boston Scientific plans will provide good opportunities for graduates.

It's a great opportunity for us to just go straight from college into a job.

Over forty per cent of students at Cork RTC are studying engineering and technology and employment prospects for graduates is looks very positive.

There's virtually full employment for graduates in these two disciplines.

One third of the workforce in Boston Scientific will be graduates of UCC and Cork RTC. Graham Barriscale says that if Boston Scientific were not in Cork, he would have to leave the region in search of work.

The announcement today provides an optimistic prospect for students in Cork and Galway.
