Sonny Knowles and friends provide the entertainment in a Christmas cabaret.

Sonny Knowles has been singing professionally since the early sixties and in 1975 began to present the television show 'Cabaret', produced by Tom McGrath. Showcasing some of the the best entertainment talent in Ireland 'Cabaret' was very popular with television audiences.

The Christmas Special featured guests Des Smyth, Nicola Kerr, Noel Ginnity, Tony Sadar and Jim Farrelly along with Earl Gill and his orchestra and Joan Farrelly dancers.

The opening performance of the night comes from Sonny himself singing 'Sleigh Ride' as he introduces his guests who join him on stage. The medley of songs includes Des Smyth singing 'Winter Wonderland', and Nicola Kerr singing 'Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow'. They are joined by Jim Farrelly on clarinet, hypnotist Tony Sadar, and comedian Noel Ginnity for a rendition of 'Oh Tonight We'll Merry, Merry Be'.
