Annemarie Crowley is a 21 year old jockey and trainer who is fast becoming an Irish racing success.
Annemarie Crowley is based at her father Joe Crowely's stables at Tullaghought near Piltown in south County Kilkenny. It is a family business, as her mother Sarah and sisters are also involved in the day to day of training racehorses.
There is a relaxed atmosphere at the yard and Annemarie Crowley puts their success here down to the amount of work the horse do on a daily basis.
I think working against the hills is really the secret.
Her father Joe Crowley who has many years experience of breeding and training winning horses is understandably very pleased at the trajectory of his daughter’s career,
She's had quite a good run. I'm delighted for her.
At a recent race meeting in Leopardstown Annemarie Crowley's training formula proved right for Hillwalk, who was backed as the favourite, and despite a less than auspicious start was first past the post. On the way back to the winner’s enclosure,
Happiness and relief are written all over the young trainer rider's face.
