Sir William Jenkins presides over his third Lord Mayor's Show in Belfast.
Crowds gathered in Belfast for the Lord Mayor's Show a mile long parade of 65 floats and 14 bands including the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and the Royal Marine Band from Scotland.
The parade Marshall was Douglas Watson.
Thousands of spectators lined the route. At Belfast City Hall, the parade was watched by the Governor Lord Erskine and Lady Erskine; Captain Terence O'Neill and Mrs O'Neill. The cavalcade passed along Chichester Street toward the dispersal point in Laganbank Road.

The Governor's Trophy for the best float was awarded to the Hospitals Authority. The Lord Mayor's Trophy went to Gallaher Ltd and the Prime Minister's Trophy was awarded to Rentokill.
