The 1988 Mary From Dungloe Maureen Connolly tells RTÉ News about her year as the holder of the title.
One of the highlights of the weekend was a performance by The Drifters with some locals taking up vantage points on rooftops and telephone boxes to catch a glimpse of the band.
The festival continues until 7 August with acts like Brendan Boyer and Daniel O'Donnell taking to the stage and the crowning of the 1989 Mary of Dungloe.
The festival is a million pound boost to the town of Dungloe.
