Work is underway on a new road that will link Bray in County Wicklow to Dublin City Centre.
Christopher Geoghegan of the Dublin Corporation Engineering Department says the work to construct the new road run along the old R138 will cause traffic congestion. However he believes that the works will not be too obstructive as most of the new road is being constructed on "virgin soil".
It's part of the Corporation's ongoing programme for the improvement and realignment of certain roads in the city.
Having just completed the Finglas By-Pass, the Corporation now proposes to build similar schemes to by-pass the villages of Chapelizod and Rathfarnham.
Christopher Geoghegan says theses projects are because there is now more money being invested in the road infrastructure.
