Ten years old a project to regenerate the Dublin suburb of Ballymun enters its final phase.

The organisation behind the renewal of the north Dublin suburb says that eight per cent of new homes in the area will either be started or completed by the end of 2009.

An area where new neighbourhoods are evolving in the shadow of the infamous flats.

Linda Brogan who has recently moved into her new home describes the contrast between the old and new in Ballymun.

The regeneration project is celebrating ten years in operation. By 2012, all the original tower blocks should be gone.

Ciaran Murray of Ballymun Regeneration Limited describes the quality of the new homes and neighbourhoods in the area.

All of these are helping change the image.

Members of the Ballymun Youth Group are optimistic about the future of the area.
