Clash of the virtual ash as hurling enters the interactive gaming world on the PS2.

Ireland's national sport is being made available to the gaming generation with the launch of Gaelic Games Hurling for Sony's Playstation 2.

Anyone can pick the team they want to be and battle it out for the Liam McCarthy Cup from the comfort of their own living room.

The GAA has welcomed the game, but players are refusing to endorse the product. While the graphics and players look real, actual player names could not be used due to a disagreement between the Gaelic Players Association who represent hurlers, the GAA and Sony.

Testing out the game, Kate Higgins Jackson describes the game as both fast and realistic.
