Calls for the government to end the democratic deficit affecting the populations of the country's islands.
There are approximately three thousand off-shore islanders. Thirty years ago there were double that number. Islanders put the decline in island population down to a democracy deficit.
According to The Islands Federation, Comhdháil Oileáin na hÉireann, the politicians on the mainland are taking decisions for the islands without any representation from them.
There has never been a resident Islander in either the Dáil or the Senate.
Comhdháil Oileáin na hÉireann is now suggesting that the government should nominate an Islander to the Senate.
