Alex Higgins describes how he overcame nerves to be come the World Snooker Champion at the age of 22.

Alex Higgins tells RTÉ Sport about his win. Higgins admits to being in a bit of a daze following his success and is only just realising that he is indeed the World Champion. He admits to being really nervous at some points during the game when things looked a bit grim.

I'm the World Champion.

Higgins beat John Spencer in the final by 37 frames to 32. The final was held in Birmingham's Selly Park British Legion from 21 to 26 February.
