Strandhill in Sligo is seeing a revival in the art of making Saint Brigid's crosses from rushes.

This film shows a group of women seated around a fire weaving the crosses. The crosses are woven from rushes.

The St Brigid's cross is for many a symbol associated with Ireland in a similar way to the harp and the shamrock.
