Meeting of European Union finance ministers in Dublin agrees key details on plans for a European single currency.

The Ecofin Council made up of the economics and finance ministers from all European member states meets in Dublin Castle under the Irish Presidency of the European Union. 

Minister for Finance Ruairi Quinn represents Ireland. The ministers agreed on key details of plans for the introduction of a single currency throughout the European Union.
