Ireland's first pet cemetery is in Kilmolin County Wicklow.

'Jo Maxi' visits Ireland's first pet cemetery in Kilmolin, Co. Wicklow. Geri Lalor meets the owner, Bob Anderson, who was inspired to open it after seeing a television programme about similar services in America.

The cemetery opened in March 1989 and by November that year there had been 350 burials, mainly cats and dogs. Bereaved owners have a choice of three options: burial in a communal garden, a private plot or a deluxe grave.

The majority are dogs, we've got some cats, a few rabbits.

'Jo Maxi' broadcast on 21 November 1989. The presenter is Ray D'Arcy. The reporter is Geri Lalor.
