In this RTÉ News report from 1964, Kevin O'Kelly meets some Irish soldiers who are part of a UN patrol in Cyprus.

Labhrann sé le Lieutenant Todd faoi na saighdiúirí eile agus a gcuid oibre.

Many of the soldiers are from the Gaeltacht and talk Irish amongst themselves, though they have little opportunity to speak it during their duties. O'Kelly points out that Irish was used as a secret code in the Congo, but Todd tells him they weren't long cracking it.
