A group of leading international archaeologists visit the Wood Quay site in Dublin.

International interest in the Viking site at Wood Quay sees a group of archaeologists from Europe visit the site. RTÉ News spoke to two of these archaeologists about the importance of the site.

One of the archaeologists comments that "this excavation is very important because of the splendid state of preservation of the archaeological cultural layers...we can construct the history of the capital of Ireland, of Dublin". He warns that there is not enough time left for excavations to be carried out.

The second archaeologist interviewed comments on how preservation of the past and modern life can live side by side. Again, he argues that continued excavations are need at Wood Quay.
